The single most useful thing to know before you upload: the average is 5.59/10, and only 8.1% of people score a 7 or above. A 6 is an ordinary result, not a bad one. Getting an accurate rating
Photo quality changes the score more than most people expect — not because it changes your face, but because it changes how well the model can measure it.
- • Even, front-facing light. Side lighting casts shadows the model reads as asymmetry.
- • Straight-on angle. A tilted or turned head compresses one side of the face and distorts proportions.
- • Neutral expression. A wide smile changes the position of the landmarks used for measurement.
- • No filter, minimal makeup. Filters move apparent feature positions, so you end up rating the filter.
- • Keep conditions identical if you re-test. Otherwise you are comparing photos, not progress.

What kind of photo works best?
Even, front-facing light, a straight-on angle, a neutral expression, no filter and no heavy makeup. Photo quality genuinely moves the score: uneven lighting creates shadows the model reads as asymmetry, and a tilted head compresses one side of the face. A better photo does not change your face, but it does measure it more accurately.

Somewhat, and by less than most claims suggest. Across 17,032 analyses the average gap between a current score and the model's estimated potential is 1.31 points, and 4.4% of people have 2 points or more of room. Of everyone scoring under a 5, none has a potential score of 8 or above.
What happens to my photo?
Photos are analyzed in real time and are never sold or used for training. Anonymous scans are not stored, and if you have an account your photos are deleted when you delete it.
